Taiwan Biostimulant Society Established! Opening a New Chapter for Taiwan's Sustainable Agriculture

In this pleasant September weather, Taiwan's agricultural technology sector has reached an important milestone—the Taiwan Biostimulant Society (TBSS) has officially been established! On the morning of September 18, scholars, experts, and industry representatives from across the country gathered at the first-floor conference hall of Perfectland Biotech Co., Ltd. to witness the birth of this non-profit academic organization focused on biostimulant technology research and application.

What are Biostimulants and Why Are They Important?

What exactly are "biostimulants"? Simply put, they are innovative agricultural technologies that enhance crop growth quality, strengthen plant resistance to stress, and reduce the use of chemical fertilizers. In today's world where global climate change and environmental sustainability issues are receiving increasing attention, biostimulant technology is providing more environmentally friendly and efficient solutions for agriculture.

In practical applications, biostimulants help crops absorb nutrients more effectively, resist pest and disease attacks, adapt to extreme climate conditions, while reducing the application of pesticides and chemical fertilizers, thus lessening the burden on the environment. This is an important direction for sustainable agriculture development and one of the key technologies for Taiwan's agricultural transformation and upgrade.

Core Missions of the Society

The Taiwan Biostimulant Society has established four core missions:

  1. Promote domestic research, development, and application of biostimulants

  2. Strengthen analysis and exchange of biostimulant-related information domestically and internationally

  3. Expand the biostimulant market

  4. Promote other relevant matters in line with the Society's objectives

These missions have been established to build a professional knowledge exchange platform that supports Taiwan's technological innovation and industrial development in the field of biostimulants.

Looking to the Future

After its establishment, the Society will successively plan to hold annual seminars and present the latest domestic and international developments, while actively promoting ESG sustainable agriculture projects. In September 2025, the first annual seminar and anniversary celebration will be held, inviting domestic and international experts and scholars to share the latest research results and promote industry exchange and cooperation.
